The telecine options have to do with film that's been transferred to video, so unless that's the case for your movie, ignore these settings. Try it both ways and see if either of them works for you. If you set it to Remove Interlacing Odd, Squeeze will get rid of all the odd lines, if you set it to Remove Interlacing Even, Squeeze will get rid of the even lines.

With it set to Auto, Squeeze figures out how to do each frame whatever way it thinks is best. So what you're telling Squeeze to do when you tell it to deinterlace is take out the existing interlacing, and make each frame progressive. Sorry if you already know this, but I wanted to make sure. A computer draws each screen one line at a time, which is called progressive.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, interlacing is a TV thing where the monitor/screen draws all the odd lines of the frame first, then goes back and draws all the even lines of the frame, then starts all over again. What's the difference between them? I appriciate you guys trying to help even though my explanations of the problem is retarded :) I'm really sorry. the menu has 4 other options than auto, which are Remove Interlacing Odd, Remove Interlacing Even, Remove Telecine Odd and Remove Telecine Even.

I've obviously tried several times without any filter with different compressionrates and formats (WMV, MPEG-4 (Which I'm still on right now becuase it's what I want in the end) and MPEG-1/2) and well, nothing changed between them as far as interlacing goes.

This is the filter I tried after reading that maybe, hehe, it was I filter I wanted to use. The movie works great in it's orginial format, apart from being 1. Anything else sorrounding Avid settings I have no idea about. What frame rate was this movie shot in? 24, 25, 30? Interlaced or progressive? Did you capture it at 1:1 compression? 2:1? DV? When you exported it from Avid, did you export it upper field first, or lower, or single field? In Squeeze, is deinterlacing on or off?įirst image is what we're dealing with.

Without either a picture of what this problem looks like, or details about what settings you used when exporting from Avid and what settings you used in Squeeze, we're just taking shots in the dark that "2 in 1 picture" means "interlaced," and I'm not certain that's the case. Did I miss something? What's the filtersetting for getting it progressive? However, that didn't seem to work at all, so now I'm confused. I don't think it's doing anything at all though, as far as deinterlacing goes).Īnyway, I used a filter (Which I finally found) and only used normalized audio and. The problem is that it doesn't, or does but does a pisspoor job of it (I'm not sure I can tell. I want it to deinterlace my movie as it looks like *** on the computer. So, I gave up and posted without one, sorry. I tried to include an images because obviously that'd make it instantly clear as to what I was talking about but.
